OUTREACH
MINISTRIES
Directive Three - Giving without
expecting anything in return.
|
"Come,
you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the
kingdom
prepared
for you from
the foundation of the world.
For I was
hungry and you gave Me something to eat; I was
thirsty and you
gave
Me drink; I was a stranger and you invited
Me in, naked and
you clothed
Me; I was sick and you visited Me;
I was in prison and
you came to
Me.
Then the righteous will answer Him saying,
'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty and
give You drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invited
You in, or naked and clothe You? And when did we see You sick,
or in prison, and come to You?
And
the King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you,
to
the extent
that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine,
even the
least of them, you did it to Me."
Matthew
25: 34-40

Our
Lord Jesus Christ set the example for our third path
of
ministry. Outside of the temple in Jerusalem and
synagogues He
visited
in
different communities, He ministered to
people in need
of basic life-sustaining items, like food and water,
clothes,
healing,
and friendship, often to people who had no idea
who He was, or His motivation behind his deeds. We endeavor
to
do the same outside
of the church in community, through
our sponsorships of
outreaches
like HOPECONNECTIONS of
the East Bay. This
is to be a practical approach
to ministry by providing consulting for the organizational
support, financial backing, spiritual guidance and personal
involvement
necessary
to connect donors and volunteers from within the communities,
to those in need of these basic items for life. It is
our
hope these outreaches will grow to reproduce
in communities by
teaching people by example,
how to help those in need within their
own community through committed volunteers.

The
outreach style of Hope Connections in particular, is
designed to
allow people
of differing faiths and philosophies, denominations
or
social
groupings,
ages and experiences, to
all come together in
a
common cause which connects them to
one another, that
of
'loving
their neighbor as thy self'. The
purpose for bringing these
people together is to 'fulfill
the
Good
News
of Jesus Christ' in
practical and tangible ways
that
does not offend anyone.
This will be
shared with
all
volunteers
who join in this endeavor.
The recipients of
these gifts will
hear from the students
or volunteers only, " because God
loves
you" or "Jesus loves you", when they
are
asked
why they
are receiving these goods. and
receive acknowledgement of
those who
contributed towards this ministry and participated
in it.
Any other sharing of motivations will be personal by the
volunteer in their reasons for helping, after invitation
by the
recipient to hear it. Our hope is that this program can be
used in various types
of school systems to help teach our
children the meaning of giving
time and effort through
community service and volunteerism as its
own reward.
